    The role:

    • Ensuring the children are safe and cared for at all times. Help them to navigate the world they live in with guidance and care

    • Prepare delicious and nutritious meals and snacks for both children as needed.

    • Manage the children’s social calendar (age appropriate classes and groups, after-school/holiday clubs, day trips / visits to museums in school holidays

    • Be ahead of things before they need doing! You should be alert to the general needs of the family and how to support them to keep things calm and smooth running throughout your tenure with them. You will know what needs doing in this type of household.

    • Assist with after-school routine in the evenings (afternoon meal, pre bed wind down)

    • Play with the children - make their day full of fun and excitement. You should easily be able to rustle up some games for both children be that a cooking session, water and sensory play, educational activities etc especially in school holidays.

    • Be an excellent example for the children and be attentive to their emotional needs. Help them to understand big emotions.

    • Keep communication channels open and clear with parents and be able to ‘read the room’

    • Work with the family as part of a team. Be able to adapt and grow with the role alongside the children as they grow. You should be able to care for children from 3 years old onwards through their childhood and know how to care for them at this critical time for their development.

    The Person

    • You should be a nanny who loves their job and is happy to come to work each day

    • A positive outlook on life would be suited to this family

    • Be able to keep calm under pressure and adapt depending on what the day holds which can be surprising with young children

    • You should be able to show exceptional prior experience as a nanny and have great references
