Having recently said goodbye to their full-time nanny of six years, this family are keen to secure a credible and reliable support to see them through the coming years. Ideally, they would like to find someone who is able to support them with after-school care in term time and with longer hours in holiday times.
The role:
- Support and run school pick ups and transport children to after-school activities as needed. This busy household have numerous after-school activities and events so you will work with the family to co-ordinate this busy time of the day during term time
- Help with homework and school projects as needed as well as helping the family keep on top of school requests and admin
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for all three children in term and holiday time (trips to museums, the park and activities as well as helping them learn through play and fun)
- Prepare and serve healthy snacks and meals for the children as needed
- Assist with bath and bedtime routines as needed
- Help coordinate and communicate with the schools and keep parents updated. If there’s a costume to be made for World Book day, you will be able to produce something great for them!
- Escalate any concerns about the children to the parents. Care for them, entertain them and listen to them
- When you have time, it would be great if the nanny could keep an eye out for: name tagging clothes, putting aside clothes that no longer fit, shoes that need replacing etc
- Play with the children - make their day full of fun and excitement. The children are active and engaged so you should be able to provide fun and learning for them throughout the home and out of the home
- Generally be an all hands on deck help for this household picking up ad hoc tasks as they arise (related to the care of the children)
- Help schedule holiday activities and adventures for them that are educational and exciting
- Keep communication lines open and clear at all times with parents and be happy to take on feedback and listen to ideas
- Be confident administering medicines and taking children to doctors appointments. Be able to disseminate information from meetings where you’re in representation of the parents clearly and simply.

The role:
- Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for the children
- Keeping on top of admin related to the children e.g. nappy supplies, food shopping, name tagging clothes, packing school bags for the eldest etc
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for them as needed and help assist with weaning, potty training etc as the youngest grows. A focus on healthy meal preparation is going to be key so a real interest in nutrition would be a bonus. Managing picky eaters should be a walk in the park for you.
- Be a wealth of knowledge when it comes to supporting the children to learn through play. You should have an endless list of fun ideas to keep both children entertained with age appropriate activities. Don’t be afraid to be inventive and run your own activities in the home.
- Keep on top of cleaning, laundry and tidying related to the children - be willing to address the laundry pile in the utility room when there is time!
- The eldest attends school in term time and whilst these hands on parents do most drop-offs and pick-ups, on occasion they will ask for help with this
- Manage the son’s daily routine, including nap time, playtime, and outings and use your initiative to guide the family on this as needs change
- Help keep an eye on developmental milestones the children’s general wellbeing and health - raising any concerns if needed. You should be able to confidently manage any illnesses as you will have experience from previous positions of assessing sickness, the severity of these issues and what to do as a result
- Communicate with parents clearly and rationally
- Be emotionally intelligent and keen to create a trusting relationship with the parents and children for the long term.

The Brief
We are currently seeking a full-time nanny located as close to Queen's Park as possible to fulfill a sole charge/shared care role from Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm.
The ideal candidate will possess a 'can-do attitude' and be adept at caring for all three children simultaneously. Parents work full time; the mother works from home three days per week and therefore assists with school drop-off and pick-up.
The children attend local schools, and from September, the youngest boy will start a local nursery from 9am-12pm. During this time, the nanny will be required to manage household tasks related to the children and home.
The family employs a cleaner twice per week, so this is not a housekeeper role.
